Job Description:

JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D.

Brief Description:
Implement and manage the Special Events and Gala Program at the chapter level. Ensure that the chapters achieve their fundraising goals and objectives.

Detailed Description:
The National Manager of Gala and Special Events will implement and manage the Special Events and Gala Program at the chapter level. He/She will also ensure that the chapters achieve their fundraising goals and objectives. He/she will be responsible for understanding the Foundation, departmental activities, operations, policies, and procedures of JDRF.

· Collaborate with Regional Directors, Executive Directors, Special Event Coordinators, and all other staff to monitor special events revenue and expenses and ensure all programs remain within budget.
· Expand, develop, and implement new Special Events program activities at the chapter level.
· Create and distribute recruitment materials and develop program elements for the Golf and Gala programs.
· Assist in developing, implementing and evaluating training initiatives and departmental projects.
· Understand the strategic direction and purpose of the department and conform to stated strategies and business needs.
· Participate in and/or lead meetings. Develop and deliver presentations as required, and provide input and suggestions.
· Operate with great latitude for independent judgment and initiative.
· Ensure that the confidentiality and security of all information under his/her supervision is maintained.
· Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor and senior management.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of fundraising and special events experience required. or Non-profit experience a plus.
• Understanding of various computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Auction Tracker.
• Practice in developing and delivering presentations, reports, and business correspondence.
• Exceptional management, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, team player and strong organizational skills. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills.

This is a telecommuter position.
