Since 1988, Doctors Care has served low income and uninsured/underinsured patients in the South Metro area. The primary objective of the Development and Marketing Associate is to support the marketing and fundraising activities of the Development and Marketing Director and Development and Marketing Manager by writing for various grants and community publications, elevating donor stewardship, maintaining donor and organizational data management, event planning logistics and social media growth and engagement.
•Plan and execute events varying in size and scope to generate revenue, educate our partners and share the mission and programs at Doctors Care. Projects vary from small third party events to 25 year event
•Management of event logistics, and coordination of event volunteers
•Organize and maintain resource development calendar including managing the research, writing and timeline for foundation correspondence (including proposals and reports)
•Collaboration with necessary departments across the organization for grant writing, marketing, and social media updates
•Draft donor thank you letters
•Research new funding opportunities
•Maintain accurate gift records and donor interaction in database (Sage)
•Lead social media updates: Twitter, Facebook, Blog Posts, Youtube, etc.
•Research community efforts relating to healthcare or Doctors Care for social media.
•Represent Doctors Care at various community functions and fundraising events in an effort to forward the organization’s mission
•Creation of marketing materials (fliers, digital signage, etc.)
•Proofread and edit internal and external communication
•Complete any other duties pertinent to the position as assigned by supervisor
•Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information including HIPAA and patient information
•Manage development / marketing volunteers
•Collaborate with staff to compile organizational statistics, financial data, and specific equipment or program needs
•Prepare for staff and board presentations about Doctors Care with updated statistics and patient stories
•Assist in the development of organizational collateral (fliers, brochures, annual report, publications)
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or applicable field
•Grant writing experience
•1-2 years relevant marketing and communications or development experience
•1-2 years writing experience from a brand/organizational perspective
•Previous design experience (Vizio, InDesign, Publisher)
•Proficient in donor database systems, preferably Sage
KNOWLEDGE AND STRENGTHS
•Highly organized self-starter with the ability to discern priority and multi-task
•Understanding of nonprofit development, preferably in a healthcare setting
•Ability to develop and nurture contacts and relationships
•Work well under pressure of internal and external deadlines
•Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Compensation based upon qualifications:
•This position is part-time working 25 hours per week.
