The MCA offers expert support services and advice on law, legislation, marketing, public relations, and business administration.

Salary: $20 per hour
Hours: 2-3 days per week
This position manages the MCA’s financial records to include recording financial transactions; managing accounts payable and receivable; reconciling bank statements; updating the trial balance, profit-and-loss statement and balance sheet; managing payroll and invoicing.
•Maintain books of accounts (including, but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices, preparing cash, check and credit card deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash and fixed assets).
•Oversee issuing of checks/payment of invoices. Assist with all payroll functions.
•Prepare monthly/quarterly schedules & financial statements for project staff, Executive Director and Board of Directors.
•Directly responsible for dues billing process.
•Handle credit card and PayPal processing and comply with security requirements.
•Maintain accounts receivable by preparing regular statements and collections.
•Maintain all bank accounts and relationship with banker. Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts.
•Complete income tax information returns (or support completion of the return by the CPA).
•Oversee internal system of handling funds. Maintain up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support book keeping and financial records.
•Maintain year-end working schedules and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews of the association’s books with support from the Executive Director and Treasurer.
•Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for financial and accounting issues.
•Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization’s books of account.
•Maintain an accurate and complete trail of supporting documentation for all financial and bookkeeping activities.
•Liaise with project staff and support them in bookkeeping needs related to their program areas.
The bookkeeper needs to have a solid understanding of the organization’s operations and management, and some of its more complex financial management and accounting issues. The bookkeeper also needs to understand complex accounting policies and procedures and be able to stay on top of a fast-paced and complicated organization’s operations.
