The Grant Manager is responsible for working with the Executive Director to write grant proposals, reports, and letters of inquiry on behalf of the TYSN, maintain a grants calendar, and research potential grant opportunities. The Grant Manager must be passionately committed to the mission of TYSN. Experience in social service youth work and youth community organizing is preferred.
Manage grant calendar: Maintain TYSN’s grant calendar in collaboration with the ED. Keep track of upcoming deadlines and pace grantwriting and reporting accordingly. Meet monthly with ED to review the grant calendar and plan next steps.
Grantseeking: Follow up on leads for potential funders: research foundations and funding guidelines. Add potential new funders to the grant calendar and discuss next steps with the ED. Occasionally, grantseeking may include broad searches of foundation databases or other general funder lists; however, most of TYSN’s funders are found through word of mouth.
Grantwriting: Complete grant proposals, drawing on language from former proposals and writing new material to ensure that each proposal submitted is up to date and tailored to the potential funder in question.
Grant reporting: Keep track of reporting guidelines for each funder and write reports as necessary.
