Giant Campus is looking for talented and dedicated high school certified teachers to join our instructional team on a part-time basis. Candidates must hold a current Washington State certification to teach high school.

This is an opportunity for an exciting new form of public school that students can attend from home – a school that combines the expertise and accountability of publicly-funded education with the flexibility of online classes. We are seeking technology teachers with expertise in 2 or more of the following areas:
* Digital Photography & Graphics
* Game Design
* Web Design
* Digital Video Production
* Flash Animation (CS4 – software provided)
* Online Game Design (Flash CS4, ActionScript provided)
* 3D Art 1 – Modeling & 3D Art 2 – Animation
* CAD
* Intro to C++ Programming
* Audio Engineering

Key Responsibilities:
* Reach out continually to get and keep high school students engaged, guiding them through the successful completion of well-developed online course(s).
* Act as a learning coach by assisting and supporting students, often one-on-one, in course content and online learning skills.
* Maintain daily online communication with students. Be available by phone, email, web-conferencing and IM during synchronous class sessions and office hours.
* Respond to students questions clearly and within one business day.
* Respond to student assignments within three business days by completing evaluation rubrics and providing clear and constructive comments.
* Work actively to build interactive learning communities with students and colleagues.
* Attend regular staff meetings; share resources, contribute best practices, solve problems constructively, and continue to learn and improve teaching skills.
* Proactively communicate with students, parents and Giant Campus staff regarding course-, software- and student-related problems and concerns.
* Innovate in developing effective strategies that help students succeed in online technology courses and in life.

* Team Player – who acts as a vibrant contributor to an instructional team dedicated to brainstorming, sharing ideas, trying new things, learning from past experiences, and making significant contributions to effective online teaching practices and student success in an online environment.

Conditions of Employment:
* Current Washington State high school teaching certification is required. CTE endorsement in Technology Education preferred.
* A successful background check.
* Reliable high-speed internet access.
* A PC computer, with enough available hard drive space to install course software and view student projects.
* Successful completion of the Giant Campus online instructor training and orientation.
* This is a part-time teaching position; must have the desire to work part-time. Compensation is based per student with stipends for training and Internet/phone.
