Bad news first – It’s $7/month
Good news – We gave the question of revenue a great deal of thought and finally concluded that having the parents pay a small membership fee was the best option for 4 reasons – make sure you read No.4:
1. Since hiremyparents.com is supported by the subscription fees – which, let’s face it is peanuts – there is no conflict of interest when it comes to providing job information and it can dedicate itself solely to providing the best information possible about the best flexible, telecommuting and outsourced jobs on the market today.
2. We wanted absolutely no barrier of entry for businesses to post their jobs on hmp. If you’re a telecoms giant or a bank then paying $100 (at least) to post your flexible job to the market isn’t a problem. But if you’re a small business that wants a quick designing job done, or someone to work during lunch, then paying $100 for a $50 job just doesn’t make sense and so the job wouldn’t be posted. For the sake of a few pounds a week, paid by our parent members, $10,000′s possibly $100,000′s of work would not get posted. And don’t forget we take absolutely no commission.. nada..zip..it’s all yours.
3. From a businesses point of view where would you post a job? A site where anyone can zap off an email in reply to a job posting OR a site where the people that reply are serious enough about their work to pay a subscription to have the job posting put in front of them? This combined with the fact that our members are all parents, with the reliability and experience that comes with that, hiremyparents becomes a very attractive place to post vacancies and projects. More job postings…more opportunities…more money.
4. Forget all these reasons – it won’t cost you a penny! Because we wanted to build and run a professional site someone had to pay for it – but we really didn’t want our members out of pocket before they even started looking for a job. We came up with an affiliate programme – a way for our members to start earning money from the beginning of their experience with us. It’s all explained in the members area but basically in return for you telling people about us we pay you – we’ve even put your first months fee into your affiliate account! If just 4 people you refer join hmp your membership is paid for – if you refer more your in to profit.
With the reasons above and the affiliate programme we put in place we believe a happy middle ground has been found; where our members can get a professional service while not having to pay for it by referring parents that will also receive a professional service and the opportunity to join as an affiliate. We hope you agree.
