FAQ’s
If your query isn’t answered within our FAQ’s try getting answers from hmp employees and our customers through our ‘UserVoice’ service.
How does hmp work?
When a business posts a new home based job or project to hmp it is reviewed and posted in the members-only area on the Job Board page, dated and categorised. Members can login to see the projects or receive them via email or RSS.
How do I log in or get new projects?
When you join hmp you will be prompted to create a username and password. Once you have created your username and password, you will be able to log on to view all active work at home jobs.
Where do the jobs/projects come from?
Our home based job postings come from the UK and USA but we hope to broaden our market in the future. It must be remembered that many of the jobs and projects posted can be completed from ‘anywhere’ in the world but if a parent is specifically looking for a part-time office job in Los Angeles then applying for an office job in Glasgow is ill-advised.
How do I apply for a project?
To apply for a project, you will respond directly to the business listed, their representative or online via an external link. Do not reply to hmp. We do not have any part of the application or selection process from this point on. The client may ask for samples of work and / or references, etc. which you would send directly to them. We designed hmp to be VERY easy to use for both our parent members and our businesses. There is no middle man. It’s quick, easy and streamlined.
When are jobs / projects removed from your site?
Jobs are removed as soon as the business or hiring person tells us the work at home job has been filled. If they forget to tell us, the job will expire and be removed automatically after 90 days. Parent members are also encouraged to let us know if they find positions that are filled, or no longer exist, so that we can remove them.
How long before I can expect to get a job or project?
It often takes months of time and effort to find a job that matches your qualifications and desires. Actively pursuing multiple leads will maximize your search efforts and reduce the time it takes you to find employment. This means devoting as much time as you can to your job search. Don’t be discouraged if you do not find the right job or project right away. Be persistent and continue to pursue those opportunities that match your skills and background.
How do I cancel my membership?
Why would you? However, if you decide to cancel your membership, you may do so by emailing us, using the Contact Us page and we will cancel your membership within 24 business hours.
How will I be paid for work or projects?
The company or client who posts the projects pays you directly. hmp is not involved in the payment process nor do we earn any revenue from what our members earn. You are responsible for setting up acceptable payment methods and checking the company’s credentials.
Do you screen employers who post on your site?
Companies and individuals are screened prior to job posting by our savvy researchers, if the work at home position does not look credible or the company has an unsatisfactory record for any reason within hiremyparents, their job is not approved. Or if the job is in any way offensive or objectionable, it is not approved. As with any job or project, we strongly encourage members to do research on the company or the person hiring – ultimately the responsibility is entirely the members although we will try to assist in any way we can. Check them out by doing an internet search to see if you find any mention of them (positive or negative) on message boards, etc. Another option would be payment in installments if it is the first time you have worked with a company or individual.
Are there any permanent work from home jobs posted?
Yes, we often have permanent home based jobs posted to our members.
Can only parents join hmp?
We originally launched as a service to help parents find flexible work but with so many people wanting our help we have no restrictions on membership.
